ABOUT

Championing Justice, Empowering Women, and Driving Change

Welcome to my corner of advocacy, leadership, and impact.

I’m Renee Atwell, an Attorney-at-Law specializing in criminal justice, a passionate advocate for gender equality, and the visionary founder of Girls of Impact T&T, a nonprofit organization empowering young women across Trinidad and Tobago.

For the past five years, I’ve dedicated my career to serving underserved communities as a Public Defender, where I champion access to justice for individuals facing systemic barriers in the legal system. My work in criminal justice fuels my commitment to creating a fairer society, one case at a time.

Beyond the courtroom, my passion for empowering young women led me to establish Girls of Impact T&T. Through mentorship, leadership training, and advocacy programmes, we’ve positively impacted thousands of lives, equipping young women with the tools they need to lead and inspire change in their communities.

My voice extends to regional and international platforms, where I’ve addressed critical issues such as youth leadership, gender equality, and climate justice.

From speaking at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum to training parliamentarians across the Caribbean, I am driven by a mission to amplify the voices of women and youth in decision-making spaces.
