ABOUT

Championing Justice. Empowering Women. Driving Global Impact.

Welcome to my corner of advocacy, leadership, and impact.

I’m Renee Atwell, Attorney-at-Law, international youth advocate, and Founder of Girls of Impact T&T, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering young women across Trinidad and Tobago.

I currently serve as a Legal Officer at the Office of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, where I contribute to the legislative process and support the development of laws and policies that shape national governance. My work sits at the intersection of law, policy, and public service, strengthening my commitment to equity, accountability, and meaningful change at the institutional level.

With a background in criminal law and public service, my career has been grounded in advancing justice and addressing systemic challenges. This foundation continues to inform my broader mission: creating pathways for more inclusive and representative leadership.

Beyond my professional work, I am the visionary behind Girls of Impact T&T, where I have led initiatives that have empowered hundreds of young women through mentorship, leadership development, and advocacy programmes. Through this platform, I focus on equipping young women with the skills, confidence, and access needed to lead and thrive.

My advocacy extends beyond the Caribbean. I have represented Trinidad and Tobago and the wider CARICOM region on regional and international stages, including speaking at the United Nations and engaging with Heads of Government on youth development priorities. My work has also included training young leaders and parliamentarians, contributing to policy discussions, and amplifying the voices of women and youth in decision-making spaces.

Through my platform, She Goes Global, I continue this work by creating access to international opportunities, resources, and networks for young women and allies seeking to step into global leadership.

My voice extends to regional and international platforms, where I’ve addressed critical issues such as youth leadership, gender equality, and climate justice.

From speaking at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum to training parliamentarians across the Caribbean, I am driven by a mission to amplify the voices of women and youth in decision-making spaces.

I believe that access changes everything.

Access to justice.
Access to opportunities.
Access to decision-making spaces.

Whether through law, policy, or advocacy, my goal is simple: to help build a more equitable, inclusive, and globally connected future for women and young people.
